My mom is trying, for approximately the 400th time, to explain wtf downs even are in football, and I still am no wiser. I took in basically nothing from the 4 years’ worth of football games I had to sit through in high school

I went back to work yesterday and then it snowed again, so I'm stuck at home again today 😭. Please, I just want to be able to safely leave my house so I can do fun things after work
I am done with the snow now, I'll trade my day off tomorrow for clear roads so I can leave my house again

Ended up with eight inches of snow in my yard, which is more than we've had at one time for a while. Sure am glad I don't even have to pretend like I'm going to work tomorrow bc I have no idea when my road is gonna be clear again
I think we've gotten more snow in the three hours I've been home than we did all last weekend with still more to come. It's so nice to watch

The movie my mother has on right now is driving me up a wall with its geography, bc half of it is clearly filmed next to an ocean but characters keep referring to Asheville like it's the nearest city. Secret mountain ocean?

There's a winter storm warning for my house starting this afternoon with a forecast full of "yeah, it's definitely gonna snow, and it's so damn cold it's gonna be a problem right away", so I've got my mother lined up to tell me if I need to leave work regardless of whether work closes early. Fun!

It feels a bit silly to celebrate being able to make a scary phone call for work, but nevertheless, I successfully made a call I’d been procrastinating on since yesterday, so I’ll celebrate a tiny bit anyway

It's been raining at my house all day, which melted all the snow from yesterday, but it's supposed to be 17 degrees outside tonight, so I need work to go ahead and issue at least a 2-hour delay to save me the trouble of calling in bc my road looks like an ice rink

My house is under a winter storm warning this weekend, but my workplace is only under a winter weather advisory, this will be interesting

Now my neck and shoulders, which kindly took a break from being angry at me for a few days, are back with a vengeance since I’ve had to use them more to compensate for my ankle. There are aches in places they have never been aches before, amazing.
It's all swollen and bruised now, love when I sprain my ankle for the billionth time 🥰

My desk chair at home is slightly terrible for its intended use, not least of all bc the height adjustment has never properly worked, but it's working pretty well at rolling me down the hallway between the living room and bathroom

Home early from work because I slipped and fell in some mud coming back from lunch, leaving my backside covered and my ankle hurting. This is not how I wanted to spend this afternoon

My niece, bless her, was all "this is such a good wrapping job, I could never do this!" at my present to her, so I had to confess that I couldn't do it either 😆
Mom will wrap presents for us when asked but the cost is being made fun of forever while she rolls her eyes, which is perfectly fine by me tbqh, so I got her to wrap one for my niece for me. But that still left me with two other presents I had to do on my own 🥲

I got overambitious with my plans to actually wrap some presents this year instead of chucking them into gift bags and forgot how much I hate wrapping presents. I usually only do them for the little kids, but I was like, it'll be fine! I can wrap a few more, it'll be easy!

Lies. All lies.

OK, if you actually want a manga that's soothing, hyperfocused, and genuinely adult, you would do well to check out Neighborhood Craftsmen: Stories from Kanda's Gokura-Chou, an anthology about everyday artisans in historic Edo.
