I was at a station in Paris last month where the headways were 2 minutes. It was 6pm and each train was packed full of people. We waited for a train with more room knowing that in 2 minutes another would be rolling in. It was quite amazing.

The promise of high speed rail really comes alive when walkable cities are connected. Connecting Atlanta to DC or Chicago would be huge. The more walkable Atlanta and other cities become the more exciting high speed rail becomes.

I have always considered her behavior to be insane so the last couple months of sobriety have been jarring.

I think Mamdani is there to visit and this is ultimately a power move because he’s giving advice and not afraid of the label. I hate it.

The $2000 could be a decrease in tariffs to the tune of $2000 assuming that iris invested at current interest rates over a 50 year period.

I feel fortunate to have decent tap water. For light roast filter cups I’m going to suggest minmax and shoebox if ultralight roast is your thing.

The battery Spencer deck on the other side of the bridge is probably the best way to see it (as an ex Sacramento valley resident who would have driven from the north).
