Second go of the season and I already doubled what I did last weekend. It’s coming back slowly, but surely. It feels good to do this again. Planning on going out this weekend too! (Oh and those yellow lenses make all the difference in night skiing! I see so well!) #ski #alpineski

First time doing this again after… 5+ years. I had stopped skiing due to major boot fitting issues causing me pain. Thanks to my partner I was able to take this up again and buy boots that work for me. Is #skisky a thing? #alpineski ?

My China Cabinet Far away by distance, far away by memory. It is not long that I forget how it all feels. The feelings of touch, of smell of presence. Wherever I go now, I feel estranged in being. Being in one house, being in the other house. My brain cannot comprehend the miles apart. It feels as though I am always travelling. never does it ever feel like I am settling. Always looking to the next time I can leave. I forget what it is like, sometimes, to sit and be. It was not that long ago, that I was settled. Routine. But this other house, it disrupted my settlement. This house disrupted my internal cabinet, my china. It changed things, I would say, for the better. But sometimes, it just feels like all the plates will fall. I have broken quite a bit of china over my lifetime. Some have even taken it and thrown it on the floor. Sometimes it feels like they will throw it on the floor. The people in both houses hold the pieces of china. The first house, they have been gentle for decades. This new house, they have been very gentle, too. I know the people in the new house see the china. The broken china, all over the floor inside of me. There are so many pieces, I do not want more. We look at each other, the black of our eyes. I let them touch some of my china. Only some. It feels good to have my china be precious to them. I let them touch more, but it still feels difficult. I watch them. With the intent that they will drop it. I stay vigilant. I cannot afford more broken china. They ask “Can I touch the broken ones on the floor?” I shrug. “This stuff is… not good, there is not much. It is just a big mess and I don’t remember how they fit” But they, at the other house, started picking them up. Then, I started picking them up too. I cut myself on the pieces. The blood would stain the seams of the white china. Together, in the house and sometimes far away… We would look at the pieces of porcelain. Together, they would help me understand how they fit. “I have a piece that looks a lot like this one in my cabinet” Somehow, not always perfectly, we glued pieces together The other, far away house helped me understand. The china can always be glued back together. The cups will still hold liquid, the plates will hold, too. I can fix them as many times as I want. Accidents will happen, the odd chip and crack. Far away are the days of violently breaking them. I need to catch up, to trust it won’t happen again. They grab one of the glues cups. They like this one. I look at their cups. “This one is nice, I like it a lot.” We trade cups, I got back to the other house with it. I have two houses where I keep my china cabinet. One house has kept the China safe and I know they will. The other house… scares me. Fixing cups is scary. By fixing the china, I learn to love again, bit by bit I learn to love in new ways, never before known. I learn to share my precious china once again.

I screen printed & assembled the entirety of this by hand; it was extremely laborious. All the paper, plastic was cut by me as well.
