Great to join Councillors Kelly and Atkinson at the Lions Festival of Lights kickoff. Volunteers (including City colleagues from IBEW #254) have powered this tradition for nearly 40 years. Let’s keep supporting the community builders who make Calgary shine; catch it nightly until Jan 8, 2026! #yyccc

I was grateful to take part in the 33rd annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign on Saturday, supporting families in need. Calgary Transit partnered with Calgary Co-op and the Calgary Food Bank, with buses parked at Co-op stores across the city for Calgarians to fill with donations. 1/2

It's budget week at Calgary City Council! My colleagues and I are working hard to reduce the tax increase for residents proposed by the previous Council and find more efficient ways to deliver the things we all rely on: infrastructure, public safety, and of course, services like snow clearing.

Let's stay safe on the roads this morning, #yyc! City crews are in full gear getting our roads clear. With the first big snow of the season, they're working as hard as they can to get to your neighbourhood. Take a look at where snowplows are currently working here: maps.calgary.ca/RoadConditio...

Thrilled to present medals and White Hats to winners of the ISU World Cup Speed Skating this weekend! Our Olympic Oval is a world-class speed skating and high-performance sport training centre for Canada's Olympians. We'll be cheering on all winners at the '26 Games in Milano-Cortina! #yyccc

Great to connect with Heather Morley and Jennifer English from Inn from the Cold. Grateful for their leadership supporting families facing homelessness -- and for their partnership as we work to ensure every child in Calgary has a safe place to call home. #yyccc

Great to join my friend Ken Lima-Coelho and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Calgary team at the 2025 Big Brunch! BBBS shows what mentorship can do for a young person and for our whole city. Grateful for the volunteers and donors who step up to lift the next generation. #yyccc

Great to connect ahead of budget week with nonprofit leaders through the Social Sector. Our Council team is focused on tackling today's affordability, safety, and housing challenges. With genuine listening and partnerships, we can strengthen the supports that Calgarians count on. #yyccc

Congratulations to this year’s Avenue Magazine Top 40 Under 40! The 2025 class has drive, creativity, and a rock-solid commitment to Calgary -- a great reminder that our city’s future is in good hands! To learn more about them: top40under40.com #yyccc

Great to connect with Dr. David Ross, SAIT’s President & CEO. Our City Council team is focused on strengthening our partnership with post-secondary institutions, and using their ideas and talent to help Calgary tackle the big challenges (and opportunities!) ahead. #yyccc

Calgary needs homes that people can afford. That's why I am so excited by what we're seeing downtown: millions of square feet of empty office spaces getting turned into the homes our city needs.

Today, I proclaimed Transgender Day of Remembrance in Calgary. We honour those we’ve lost, and we stand with resolve for a city where everyone can live safely and authentically. We will keep fighting for every person’s right to be who they are: openly, proudly, and without fear. #yyccc

Grateful to attend yesterday's Economic Outlook event alongside our team of new City Council. I shared how fiscal discipline and strong public safety must guide us into this budget. With Calgary growing fast and confidence returning, there’s real reason to be optimistic about our city’s future.

Listening to Calgarians is an essential and important activity for City Council. My colleagues and I held the first public hearing of the new term to hear feedback from community members on how several proposed land use changes may impact them. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Great to chat with Youth Central Executive Director Leslie Biles and Program Director Ros Doi on engaging with Calgary's young people through the Mayor's Council and other collaborations. Building a city where youth have opportunities to do meaningful work positively impacts all Calgarians.

Great to meet with Robert Hayes from the Calgary Sports and Entertainment team today. From the Flames and Hitmen to the Roughnecks and Stampeders, our sports family is a huge source of pride. Excited to keep working together on the new event centre and world-class fan experience.

I stopped in to visit the family behind Kalamata Grocery over the weekend -- the Beltline shop featured in the media after recent break-ins. What stood out was their resilience and how much they care about their neighbourhood. 1/3

One of the things Calgary's Mayor can do is issue proclamations - a ceremonial declaration to recognize and observe days of significance. This week, November 15-22, 2025 is recognized as Métis Week. Since before Alberta was a province within Canada, the Métis people were here

I've sponsored a motion to repeal blanket rezoning -- and committee voted today to send it to full Council. As mayor, I'm committed to addressing blanket rezoning and replacing it with a community-driven approach, to restore certainty and build needed housing to support our growing city. #yyccc

Great to drop by the Secret Impro Show at Loose Moose last night -- plenty of classic "yes-and" chaos that makes improv so much fun. Calgary’s arts scene is alive and thriving, and nights like this remind me why.

I was honoured to present my first White Hat as mayor to Mayor Richard Ireland of Jasper, replacing the hat he lost when the fire took everything. A simple gesture to show Calgary stands with Jasper, as our Albertan neighbours rebuild. #yyccc

It was great to be home in East Calgary at Legion 275 this week for Remembrance Day. We honour our veterans on November 11, but our gratitude must be lived year-round through service, remembrance, and support for those who served. Lest we forget. #yyccc

Calgary's Flag Policy means any country recognized by Canada may have their flag flown at City Hall on their national day. But national flag-raisings are now creating division. Next week, we’ll move to end national flag-raisings at City Hall to keep this a safe, welcoming space for all. #yyccc

It was a pleasure to host two Grade 6 groups attending City Hall School this week in City Council Chambers and through a tour of the Office of the Mayor. We talked about how someone gets to be the mayor, what we do in City Council and how grateful my colleagues and I are to serve Calgarians.
