Full Disclosure: I'd criticized Burns' Civil War series since he neglected to mention the Articles of Secession in which the southern states had proudly proclaimed they were breaking away to preserve slavery. Centrists don't like things cut & dry, so when nuance doesn't exist it must be invented.

From the right's whining, it sounds like Burns has covered the Native & African American experiences, which is good. The writers I cited - Gary B. Nash, Ray Raphael, Larry E. Tise - also dove into this, so I'd hope that Burns had read them and seen the economic parts in the process
