That's moving the goalpost. The point is that the mind that says it's okay to do that in the first place is disconnected from nature & real relationship with Earth. That mind comes from book cultures. Those books are bibles. That mind is also the atheist mind because the culture brainwashes all.

Cue Homer Simpson drool.

Well that's a relief. I'd hate to drop a nuke and not mean it.

Um... yes to both categories. Liberals with their "incremental change" BS that accepts the crumbs while bragging about reaching across the isle. Plus the war hawks. Plus GATT/NAFTA. Plus... oh, you get it. I hope.

No. I'm saying it doesn't matter if you're religious or an atheist. Religious people don't have a monopoly on violence and war.

To me this is no different than a liberal doing MAGA are fascist memes. No shit. Now will you look at the fact that the libs have, for decades, enabled republicans to the point that this is the result?

Try telling a Hillary stan this and see if it doesn't become the same defensive conversation.

I'm not religious at all. No one said atheism is the problem. The problem is that religious people are low-hanging fruit. Now look at yourself.
December 4, 2025 at 12:08 AM
That didn't explain it. I don't get what you're saying. I've been saying this same thing all through the thread.
December 4, 2025 at 12:07 AM
No, I don't. How so?
December 3, 2025 at 11:30 PM
It's not a factor. Exceeeeept I'd say that a good part of the reason, for example, atheistic scientists feel comfy treating animals like objects & polluting in the name of "evolution" or "advancement" is because the bit about god creating us in his image and giving us dominion over everything stuck.
December 3, 2025 at 11:24 PM
No. The point is, it's easy to see the problems with fundie religious types propagating violence in the name of their god. It's much harder to acknowledge that atheists are doing the violence, too--just not in the name of a god.

The dogma is unconsciously there. It's the same for New Age people who believe they are are "spiritual but not religious." Look at what they actually believe. Often you'll find Christianity without the name. It's what our culture produces.

Beyond political leaders.

Do you know of any atheist scientists? Think any of 'em work on building bigger bombs? Think any of 'em experiment on animals? Or humans? Do you think the only scientists injecting monkeys or mice with diseases are religious?

Now do billionaire CEOs.

Also, he's got dead fish eyes.
December 3, 2025 at 10:06 PM
That and scientists/engineers, etc. The problem is, you can not believe the biblical fairytales and still have engrained in you the culture's favorite tenets, like Earth and all life is here for us to do with as we please. If I had to pinpoint the exact larger problem, it would be that.
December 3, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Sure, but don't let atheists off the hook. They may not be starting religious wars against other humans but there are plenty who are at war with Earth. And plenty who build weapons and make political policies that fuel wars, religious or otherwise.
