I love how people can just say something and it’s instantly taken as truth, even when their actions throughout history completely contradict those supposed beliefs. I’m exhausted by this whole “originalist” charade — a concept we’ve all known was nonsense for as long as it’s existed.

Why can’t we just say it plainly? Republicans don’t actually care about what the Constitution says, nor do they share the founders’ vision for what should be in it. They’re acting in ways that are fundamentally anti-Constitution — and it’s okay to call that out.

The new standard for accountability is whether someone else did it first. If there’s a precedent, you’re automatically off the hook. That’s the logic now. Trump can justify killing people because Obama did. Makes sense, right? By that reasoning, why do we have anyone in prison for murder at all?
