Dan Ryan attempts to make an apology for saying other councilors’ agenda aligns with the “national socialist” agenda in a newsletter and Instagram post earlier this week. Councilor Morillo interrupts to say it is a “non apology.”

Pt. 1

Tommy Allen is a known quantity and no one is engaging in any serious way. The grift is on and everyone seems to recognize this, but for a few people blocking his livestream.

Earlier, this “Revoke the Permit” leader, Dina, a deacon, and an unidentifiable DSA member got into a bit of an altercation, as dueling demonstrations met outside City Hall.

“ICE out of Portland” protestors are preparing to go into City Hall. In the agenda tonight is an ordinance to ban algorithmic price fixing for rents and one to add a fee to help pay for impacts of detention centers.

Weird scene at Portland City Hall as a group has gathered to demonstrate against a first reading of an ordinance that would fine landlords who rent their buildings for detention centers—they only want to revoke a permit—as a right-wing streamer Tommy Allen yells transphobic slurs into a megaphone.

I love watching the crows fly downtown at night.

Protestors have pushed agents back into the ICE facility after their brief attempt to disperse people. Seemed to be so a few cars could leave. Maybe 40 agents for this. That’s perhaps what the budget is for. People choking in the roads, mace and pepper to their faces. Some say at least one arrested.

Worth noting that if the administration had already consolidated power these agents would be operating much differently.They mostly just stand around in the roof and come out once in a while and go ballistic. When they do, the response is not equal to what is happening on the ground (music/dancing).

Reminder of what is at stake, and why people are here in the first place.

It is simply a music festival at the moment, but agents are on the roof and appear to be planning something else. Some in crowd briefly chanted “kiss! kiss! kiss!”
