I do think the TONE of the story feels more consistent now, and the whole story just works better, but yeah - it wasn't UNREALISTIC to start with!

I'm writing specfic novel, where a minor villain has a robot who constantly agrees with and flatters him. My editor demanded that I MASSIVELY toned it down - the robot and its flattery, that is - because it felt too ridiculous and over-the-top for a non-comedy. Yet, that robot had NOTHING on Grok.

I had to do all that teaching in just socks because I wore these ultra-warm boots to work, boots you can't possibly wear indoors because they'll be ovens for your feet. Thinking I was going to my office where I have lighter shoes I can switch to. Nope!

At AW after, when I explained why I hadn't attended the regular seminar, several people said this is their worst nightmare. But one guy said "worst nightmare would be this plus I forgot to wear trousers."
Then he added,correctly, that it's too cold now to leave your house trouserless and not notice.

What I saw had more of a New Age flavour, but same old victim-blaming.

I saw a post by a woman who had been all in on this free birth stuff, but she had complications and ended up in hospital anyway and needed a caesarean. In the comments section, lots of free-birthers attacked her and said free birth is 100% safe if you're truly connected to your body and blablabla.

I started speaking English to her. And she tried to translate it via a phone app, but it was pretty bad. I thought screw it I'm trying my high school French and as far as I can tell she appreciated it. I clearly made myself understood. :-)

When Laban finally goes to the hairdresser (was hard to get an appointment - we've learnt our lesson now, gotta book way in advance) we want her to cut bangs on him, like that. Now, he's got this long head hair that needs to be put up in a ponytail. NOT convenient.

People say just using it for stuff like writing abstracts is a great time saver, but if your paper is well structured, writing an abstract is very quick work. If you get stuck at the abstract, this might hint at deeper problems you should SOLVE, even if it's hard.
