- Polls are notoriously bad at identifying what people think or want due to bad methodology and poor question framing
- Saying something that people agree with but don’t really care about is pointless
- Who says it is just as important as what they’re saying

1. Sure but…
- You need to focus on voters that are likely to vote for you instead of treating all voters the same
- If you just say whatever people want to hear and have no beliefs or principles, no one will care what you say
- People change opinions all the time and can be persuaded

I’m trying to figure out why Schatz is on the MechaHitler site but not here.

Wtf… I knew they planned the inauguration but this seems like the kind of task they’d pay someone else to do.

It’s the broken American system. This is happening everywhere.
December 3, 2025 at 4:06 AM
We know. The rest of Tennessee isn’t though. Rural population always fucks it for everyone.

It’s actually insane that gerrymandering is legal but here we are.
December 3, 2025 at 4:03 AM
And car lobby is to blame for why most Americans have no idea what it’s like to live without needing a car to go to the closest 7-11, let alone anything else.

Houston has a bigger population than Barcelona. Doesn’t really matter where in Houston you live, life without a car is rough.

People don’t want something that doesn’t exist in US is a hell of an argument to make. It arguably exists in Manhattan/ wider NYC and last I checked it’s not a particularly cheap place to live in due to overwhelming demand.

This is what a proper car free city metro system looks like (this is Barcelona).
December 2, 2025 at 11:13 PM
First, you cannot compare last decade to whatever was happening in 1950s. Second, how many US cities actually offer a car free lifestyle? The only ones that even have some resemblance of a proper public transit system are NYC, DC, Chicago and Boston.

There were polls on this - the majority of women who support MAGA are married, with their husband being the primary breadwinner. Patriarchy means their husband doesn’t have to compete with women in the workplace, which bodes well for their household finances.
December 2, 2025 at 9:47 PM
No they have not. The disgust with ongoing support for Netanyahu is still very much a thing as is the expectation that whoever runs in 2028 isn’t going to run on unconditional support for Israel.
December 2, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Are we sure it’s an error and not some staffer doing this on purpose?

Has Jeffries introduced articles of impeachment for Hegseth? If not, I couldn’t care less how much he screams that Hegseth is bad.

Right now people think the Dem Party is lazy and useless with zero interest to even try to fight for democracy. They’re not beating the accusations.
December 2, 2025 at 7:57 PM
So? It’s not like they’re doing anything even remotely useful instead so at least trying would at least show their voters where they actually stand.
December 2, 2025 at 7:54 PM
The point of the vote is to get people on record. And there should be a more aggressive strategy than “feelers” to get the votes from the other side. And if you don’t get the votes, put the person on blast for how they voted when they’re up for reelection.
December 2, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Dem senators help Republicans pass Republican legislation all the time. What Dems do need is a reminder what the Democratic Party is supposed to stand for, along with a review of which policies Democratic voters actually want.
December 2, 2025 at 7:17 PM
I feel like they’re missing that it’s the presidential nominee’s job to convince the voters to vote for them. If they fail to do that, it’s not on the voters.
