I finally got round to making a start on Wired Our Way, an Irish anthology of writing by autistic people.

Off to a strong start with @jenwallacecreates.bsky.social's beautifully written and very relatable writing about autism and the outdoors...
This human world of industry and busyness, of bright lights and dense traffic, is often uncomfortable for those of us with heightened sensory and nervous systems. Shopping centres can reduce me to a shaking, wordless shell but in the woods I am truly alive, by the sea I can breathe. When I see friends, we meet for a walk or a swim. It is so much easier to be with people outdoors. Conversation flows as we move through landscapes and here the silences are not awkward.

Just a reminder that the books we call "children's books" are really books written for an audience that includes children, but excludes absolutely no-one at all. They are BOOKS FOR EVERYONE - and you can never, ever be too old to read them, and to love them!
