Ideally this will be 80% me discussing pro cycling with likeminded morons but there should be some other random stuff too.
If I revert to Swedish I'm likely irate about some local issue that may or may not be relevant if you live in Kansas or Kuala Lumpur.
Honest question because it baffles me. It's Adams' project, his brainchild etc. Did anyone genuinely believe he would be completely stepping away from it and it would still be thing? That seems ridiculously naive .

Back when I first watched it I also followed a podcast they made with the production, a lot of interviews with the showrunners among other things.
Fun to hear how much effort they put into historically correct details. Among other things they would only use songs that were released at the time.

Excellent! Yes, a bit of a bummer that the one guy who essentially does nothing bad is the one who gets screwed the worst in the end.

The Paige and religion thing is the most tedious part I agree. Only fun part of it is how much it aggravates Elisabeth.
Guessing you liked much of the music too?

I'v been tempted and bought a few homages over the years (of vintage models though, not flashy Rolexes) and they always turn out to be disappointing and unworn in the end. Even when they look terrific on paper.

Deras prylsidor har också alltid varit generellt bra men lite viktade mot amerikanska varumärken så inte alltid så användbara som köpguider.

He does realize that Tudor (and Q365) started with access to a lot of money and built from there, right?

That's a whole lot easier than starting with a lot of ambitions and good plans and *then* trying to find the money to pay for it. People always overestimate their money-finding skills.

When there is an advantage to be had from cooperation you have to assume 100% at some point people will start riding as teams whether that is the original idea or not.
If you don't like that you'll have to organize the course as an individual start TT.
November 22, 2025 at 11:02 AM
While paying no attention to gravel I got that it is 100% individual and tthe NL jersey is just a country indicator, not an indicator they are on the same team in any way. But given these are all riders used to a team structure in all other races it's absurd to think it won't be a factor for some.
November 22, 2025 at 10:58 AM
Exactly. It's understandable and in some ways being less spiteful is an attractive quality but really much of the dramatic structure of racing is built on it.

There is also the discrepancy between a third place meaning very little to the audience and a third place being a HUGE deal for the rider.
November 22, 2025 at 10:55 AM
For better or worse men's racing is so thoroughly based in the "spite principle". Riders might want a result for themselves but more than that they absolutely do not want a result for someone else benefitting off the their work.
That kind of attitude is (not yet?) as pervasive in women's racing.
November 22, 2025 at 10:46 AM
Given how we know riders still ride "tactically" in women's road races I always found Kastelijn's comment on how she (sort of foolishly) simply thought it would net her a better personal result quite believable.
It matches well with how we see riders act all the time.

You think that was their planned strategy from the start? Get a foot in the door of WT licenced team, oust the old weakened regime and start from scratch?
November 20, 2025 at 11:26 AM
I kinda doubt Premier Tech is a blushing innocent either. First Astana and then Israel, gotta be some pattern there. Could be those were just the teams willing to give them the influence they wanted but I kinda doubt there aren't plenty of other teams eager for that level of investment.

Adams is accepting a rebrand in the face of an insurmountable PR problem but given the project he's built and his personal politics does anyone truly believe this will be percieved as an un-political project in 2026?
It will be seen by everyone as the thinnest possible golden paint on a turd.
November 20, 2025 at 11:07 AM
Has very little to do with personality or thin skin right? Adams created a project that is overtly pro-Israel and in the current public opinion environment that is a potentially toxic connection to commercial actors so some will make the call to distance themselves. It's just business, not personal

Almost all of the modern CX riders opt to ride without the frame pump.

Their Roland thing fell apart long before just like everything with Roland falls apart quickly.
Just occurred to me that PT might have been keen to try a similar deal again with a more functioning team but sounds like this would have been an unlikely willing partner for that.
