Ken Paxton's reaction to a Trump-appointed judge writing an opinion blocking the TX gerrymander:
November 18, 2025 at 9:42 PM
The judge absolutely did not buy the testimony from GOP mapmaker Adam Kincaid or Republican state Sen. Phil King
November 18, 2025 at 9:39 PM
Absolutely scathing ruling blocking the map, written by a Trump-appointed judge

"We Ain't Buying It": anti-Trump groups are organizing a boycott on Target, Home Depot & Amazon from Nov 27-Dec 1

"We'll send a clear message: until they cease collaborating with this administration’s harmful policies, our dollars will go elsewhere."

Houston's 18th congressional district:
-last 2 representatives died in office
-vacant since March
-TX GOP redrew the map
-finally got to vote this week
-two Democrat millennials are going to a runoff
-Al Green (78) now filing to run against the runoff winner in the March primary

we're all trying to find the guy who did this 🫡

Today's @houstonchronicle.com piece unironically lamenting Houston's low voter turnout & low voter information, brought to you by the exact people paywalling their voter guide when they could simply give Houstonians free access to basic info about what's on the ballot & when

🚨 My nerds we have a Virginia vs. Maryland redistricting fight 🚨

houston has a congressional seat, city council seat & state props on the ballot. early voting ends TOMORROW. so far only 134,492 out of 2.6 million harris county registered voters have cast ballots. probably doesn't help that the newspaper has a paywall on the voter guide.
October 30, 2025 at 9:10 PM
it's day 5 of early voting in TX and @houstonchronicle.com still has the paywall up on their voter guide. i honestly thought this was obvious to everyone: local newsrooms with a paywall owe their community free access to two things
-emergency information
-basic essential voting information

day 4 of early voting in TX and what i'd like to know is why @houstonchronicle.com is giving houstonians a paywalled voter guide when the statesman provides austin with a voter guide free to the public? both are owned by hearst.

senate republicans in states across the country are shutting down debate wherever they're passing a trump gerrymander congressional map - in texas, missouri and now north carolina
October 22, 2025 at 3:13 PM
day 3 of early voting in TX and @houstonchronicle.com still has a paywall on its voter guide. if this is a business model, it's based on withholding the most basic information your community needs to have a functioning democracy
October 22, 2025 at 1:22 PM
the second day in a row of north carolina's state government cutting off the livestream while people call the GOP's proposed congressional gerrymander a racist map
October 21, 2025 at 7:32 PM
day 2 of early voting in TX and @houstonchronicle.com still has the paywall up on their voter guide. providing free access to the voter guide is the absolute bare minimum of your responsibility to the community you serve. houston deserves better than this
October 21, 2025 at 1:51 PM
voting is going on right now. if you're like me and you procrastinate, just go now and get it done. don't wait until election day. this weekend, voting is open on saturday AND sunday.
