And I have said that. We can advocate for better. But that requires positive recommendations for ways forward . Negativity is easy. Positivity is harder

But with the threat of a cashed up far right we have to be constructive and provide positive paths forward

Australia needs a government. Labor is the only real alternative. Greens too far off winning . Of course we all want a better government and work for that to happen

Albanese was madecautious by the Rudd Gillard Rudd factionalism . The deal is if he is PM that doesn't happen again. The rules have been changed to prevent it but open factionalism could still start again. Albanese sees that as what ended the second Rudd Government and we got Abbott

That's exactly where they need to go

Labor faces the practicalities of implementing good ideas. They don't always get it right or go far enough or do the changes at a time when they are needed. But dealing with hostile forces is never easy either.

Yes but the Greens never outline a positive way forward for government. What would they do in government that is better?

The constant experience of politics

You can have perfect policy and it doesnt matter a fart if it never gets implemented. Voters want to hear from the Greens how they would do govt any differently facing all the challenges that govt imposes.
December 7, 2025 at 10:16 PM
I pay attention all the time and I dont here alternatives in govt from the Greens. Just protest.
December 7, 2025 at 10:15 PM
No. We organise to change policy and practice. Labor is the only alternative govt at present. If we want things changed by a govt it has to be done by Labor. They are far from perfect but can respond to voter pressure
December 7, 2025 at 10:14 PM
I have read Greens policy. But they dont implement it. They just protest.

One day the Greens are going to have to do this when they decide they want to be a govt not just a protest party
December 7, 2025 at 3:23 AM
Wouldn't it be good if just for once we heard some positive ideas out of the Greens on what they would do if they were in govt and how they would achieve it, given community and foreign govt opposition.

Our humanitarian support is providing immediate lifesaving assistance and protection to vulnerable and crisis-affected people in Syria, as well as Syrian refugees and their host communities in Lebanon and Jordan.

If you go to our govt website it says, "Since the crisis in Syria started in 2011, Australia has provided over half a billion dollars in humanitarian support. Australia most recently committed $30 million to the crisis response on 17 March 2025 at a pledging conference in Brussels."

In October 2025 6 women and children got out of Syria through Lebanon. This was tagged as their own effort but I suspect that they had help from some NGO to get visas in Lebanon. Labor could well bring more home.
