Patchwork is a unique biography of Austen. I enjoyed the artwork and the interweaving of the quilt throughout the book. Although I knew quite a bit about Jane's life before reading it, there were enough new tidbits to keep me engaged.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

This book did not disappoint! The artist captured the actors perfectly in both looks and manner. I learned more about the production of Star Wars as well as Lucas’ early life than I previously knew. A must-read for any Star Wars fan!

Wow! What a wonderful story about two high schoolers who inexplicably bond and become friends. I absolutely fell in love with these friends who each have something to teach the other and their personal growth is so heart-touching. I can’t wait to read Volume 2.

A must-read for everyone! What an eye-opening journey from what it was like to be gay in the latter half of the 20th century, his work in theater, TV, & film, and his public service & advocacy work. This memoir has left me with hope for the future.

Tess is, manages to land a role in a production of Northanger Abbey. An accident on set leads her to time travel with a co-star she compares to a robot. I have read my fair share of Austen-inspired novels and this one is near the top of my list.

Trumpets of Death is a fantasy coming-of-age graphic novel with beautiful artwork. The story was moving although the author used the artwork for most of the storytelling leaving the reader to do most of the work in interpreting what is going on.

Lovely, illustrated graphic novel of the life of Mary Tudor. The story was simplified for the medium, but covered her life story. It was difficult to not find the parallels between King Henry VIII and current events.

The Hidden City-Charles Finch (Nov 2025) Lenox is still plagued by his injury in America but finds he can’t pass on a request from a former employee for assistance which ends up being more complex than he bargained for. Overall I found it a good addition to the series. Thanks NetGalley!

New podcast alert!
The first episode of It's Storytime with Wil Wheaton dropped today. What an amazing short story by Caroline M. Yoachim! And if you've never listened to Wil read you a story before you are in for a treat!

Mary sets off on an adventure with her long lost uncle in search of the Irish Crown Jewels. It was a slow start but then the characters got off their feet and got the storyline moving. Overall I found it was a satisfactory addition to Russell’s memoirs.

A heartwarming story that shows that with hardwork, determination, and a little bit of magic your dreams can come true.

Young readers will be able to relate to the characters and their experiences. The illustrations were vibrant and magical.

Not surprisingly, Trump’s overall tax and tariff proposals would make the very rich much richer and working families poorer.

If you earn less than $360,000 a year, your taxes are going to go way up.

If you’re in the top 1%? Don’t worry. You’ll save big.
