I wouldn't say lame but when you strip back the worldbuilding/detail and the action scenes, rockstar games are just a formulaic slog that is just "go to point A as the guy in your earpiece reads out a novel to you, then go to point B and sit through even more dialogue, shootout ensues, mission ends"
