So when your cost of materials increases during your time of production, You often don’t have room in the sale price to eat that increased cost. Very few options to recoup some of that cost other than to cut spending on labor.

I don’t think that people understand that most consumer goods, especially large consumer goods, are sold months and months before they ever reach the consumer. They are sold to retail outlets or dealerships, and the price that the manufacturer can receive is set at that time.
