I saw it in Rotterdam this morning. Superbly acted but I agreed with your reaction to the end where it all needed to be tied up (again) for the benefit of the ignorant audience.

Tickets already bought! I’ll be watching it with a critical eye. I read the novel several years ago, so it will be interesting to see how this adaptation is approached.

Kind of disappointing to read. Had been looking forward to see it at Camera Japan festival in Rotterdam in a few weeks.

I agree with all you said, but somehow, I ended up loving this, despite the barrage of ridiculous, implausible events and constant manipulation of the audience. When NF throws gazillions of yen at a drama, they somehow can make it appealing. I guess it was the music that hooked me.

Another great drama as is its more recent sequel with Yoshida Yo.

Excellent movie. That said, Our Little Sister remains one of my favorite all time movies. Reminds me of a French new wave drama, like those of Rohmer.

We live in different countries but we both appear to have deteriorating and crummy governments! It’s quite depressing. I retired two months ago because I couldn’t work for that government any longer.

Wholly off topic, but thanks to a posting on D-A, I just watched "Owari ni Mita Machi" with your subs. It was seriously disturbing and weird. Thanks for subbing this challenging special from last year.

Thanks! I looked through his list of credits on MDL and I realized that I've seen a number of his dramas. I loved Koi SP from 2013.

What a perfect final episode. This was an amazing drama. The colors in this final episode were incredible. During the closing credits I thought to myself that I wanted more. And I wasn't disappointed. The final image was perfection. Thanks again for subbing this.
