Just got Kevin Nealon’s book “I Exaggerate: My Brushes with Fame” in the mail today and finished it super quick thanks to how fun and breezy a read it is with really fun celebrity caricature work throughout. I recommend it!

Hongo Takeshi/ Kamen Rider faces off against a shadowy inhuman in the moody blue darkness of an abandoned church!

Just a proof of concept for fun
Digital illustration/ fanart of the original 1971 Kamen Rider series. Hongo Takeshi poses dynamically, ready for battle, in the foreground while his other form, Kamen Rider, mimics the same pose over his shoulder, the symbol of Kamen Eider over -his- shoulder. Embasa brand jarred jalapeños. The brand kinda sounds like “Umbasa” and that’s the whole joke. I should be sorry but I’m not. Saint Urbain from Demon’s Souls for the PS3 (fuck the remake) kneeling on the ground probably ending every sentence with “Umbasa”

Game of the Year, eh? I think we ALLLLL know who deserves the big banana this year

For years I've had this idea for a pulp vigilante based on the Mothman and I think I've FINALLY settled on a design for him.

Is he just a ripoff of The Sandman and The Shadow with some cryptid shit thrown in? I'll never tell~

Just finished my second Easy Rawlins novel by Walter Mosley (my third Mosley overall) and he’s quickly become one of my favorite writers. Extremely tight dialogue and characterization with stakes that feel intense and real.

I enjoyed Devil in a Blue Dress a bit more but this is still 9/10 for me.

She has half of her black hair dyed white and multiple piercings. In the far back at the top of the piece a being made of pure undulating darkness with a near-featureless mask holds a hand out as if to control the entire situation. The eyeholes of the mask are leaking a bright whispy energy. Two banners unfurl behind The Sword, fluttering in the wind. Captain Sisko of Star Trek Deep Space Nine as the 1950’s science fiction writer Benny Russell, with the ghostly presence of the actual Sisko hovering contemplating over his shoulder. Russell wears a fedora, gold rimmed glasses, and a suit and tie and has a look of disbelief on his face. His right glasses lense has the reflection of the space station Deep Space Nine covering it. She is touching a digitized butterfly from the Kirby series of video games because that’s what the client wanted and I did it even though it’s kinda made this portrait not of the zeitgeist but whatever. The touch of the butterfly is digitizing Malenia, her lower half already transforming into broken apart glowing pixels. She wears a golden prosthetic arm and golden winged valkyrie’s helm, dark red cloak with a furred neckline, and a series of overlapping robes with golden accessories. What can be seen of her right arm is rotted into an indiscriminate inhuman tone. Her red hair is flowing from beneath her helmet, framing her body on either side. Digital illustration combining Nickelodeon’s Doug with Kentaro Miura’s Berserk. The Berserk logo has been over-written with the Doug logo as if the red kanji text translates to “Doug.” Doug Funnie is partially dressed as Guts and carries his massive demon slayer sword in the foreground while the Band of the Hawk in the mid ground is represented by the fictional band The Beets. In the back ground Skeeter Valentine, dressed as Griffith, looks into the distance with a blank smile while Patti Mayonnaise, dressed as Casca, looks contemplative and distant behind him. Rolling clouds lead into the sunset in the far distance.
