I'm sorry. I've dealt with online abuse but never doxxing. Can't imagine how horrific that is

? I didn't create SM? Also most of the people I hear echo this sentiment are women who deal with harassment from anonymous accounts on every SM platform, including BS. Gamergate and other similar movements were primarily targeted at women too. Not sure there's much evidence SM is a net positive

Apple does "live" demonstrations which are very controlled, prescribed flows that they know work. It shows the magic while avoiding embarrassing mistakes

1. Wow, wasn't expecting this level of engagement
2. The irony of posting about the folly of social media on a social media platform is not lost on me 😉

I'm being hyperbolic, but I would expect there to be a greater volume of blank ballots. My point is that abstaining is worse than submitting a blank ballot. If there's going to be a year with a large volume of blank ballots, 2030 seems to make the most sense

Yeah, and it sounds like Europe is soon to follow. Thankfully better late than never in this case

Sort of. Those of us in high school at the dawn of AOL and AIM basically got to be the guinea pigs for cyber bullying. I remember an anonymous classmate threatened to kill me and my family one night, and I got no sleep. All because someone in high school thought that joke was funny.

I love when my video game and baseball worlds collide in the most unexpected ways!

All I'll say is look at the 2030 ballot. That may end up being the weakest ballot ever presented to the writers for a vote. I would expect to see a ton of blank ballots submitted that year

It's an extreme example to represent why voters shouldn't do that. If 10% of the voters abstained, or even 5%, which is plausible in a really weak year, that can have a massive effect on who gets in or not. It sucks when a blank ballot is submitted but it also reflects the reality of the ballot

I don't think that's how the voters would handle it. Imagine there's a ballot so bad that most of the writers would send in blank ballots but don't. Then you get a few voters who vote for one or two guys. You could (in theory) end up with someone making it in with 10 votes out of 12 voters, e.g.

I prefer to go to the movies, but it's hard to justify $80+ as the get-in price for a family of 4. I wanted to see Wake Up Dead Man in theaters, but that's a $40 outing for my wife and I before any concessions (which probably also cost $40 for 2). Lower prices and I'll be back in a theater

When it costs $100+ to go see a movie for my fam of 4, that's not a leisure event anymore. And sadly, for an LA based person, that's not out of the question

OMG, thank you. I was commenting on this in the Long Game chat, and I could have sworn this was what I had heard during his playing days. I made the comparison to Rendon too, and I thought I was going to start a riot. 😂
