Its true Europe benefits from getting access to medicines they otherwise wouldnt be able to afford to develop on their own, but Europe getting some advantage doesnt mean the US suffers any disadvantage. As it stands, without the US participating, now we all lose out, including the US.

If they were going to develop the drugs anyway, even without the US market, *then* your argument might make sense.

You have it completely backwards - selling to the EU on top of the US gives them additional revenue once the drug is developed, which "subsidizes" the cost for US patients. Of course if you remove the biggest market, it becomes uneconomical to make huge investments. Thats not the EU getting a subsid

Serious question - why does the federal govt pay for the national guard? I thought the point was to disperse control of the military amongst the states to offset the federal military and make it harder to do a military takeover. Wouldnt it be better of states paid their wages?

Ok if your argument is that we cant blindly follow experts, fine - thats why you need to let people give themselves/their children all options in regards to whatever treatment they seek, because ultimately nobody knows more about their own medical situation than themselves. Youre the "expert" by law
