Which is interesting because the other available evidence points in the opposite direction. I sincerely doubt a guy who gives Minsky money in 2002 during the AI winter, is friends with Bill Gates, donated to MIRI pre-HPMOR and owns esoteric books about AGI is "subliterate" tbqh

Minsky received a $100,000 research grant from Jeffrey Epstein in 2002, four years before Epstein's first arrest for sex offenses; it was the first from Epstein to MIT. Minsky received no further research grants from him.[46][47]

In total fairness it sucks that I now have to scrutinize something like this very carefully to determine if it's a real product, and at some point I will have to just assume it's not and or base it on difficulty to manufacture because the illusion will be perfect.

1. The stochastic paper in fact has as a key premise that LLMs "have access to form but not meaning".
2. I didn't say the paper says anything about generalization, though it in fact does since it implies meaning cannot be inferred from form.
3. The premise in 1 implies not understanding because 2.
