Meeting wrapped immediately after discussion ended on the study item, so I’ve been chatting with folks since.

Unclear if the council will move forward with the model resolution — they certainly didn’t refer anything to staff at the end of the meeting.

Reading the tea leaves, looks like both are going to get approved alongside the other four amendments, which were brought forward by city staff.
...In fact, it looks like they'll all be on the consent calendar at the next meeting, the generally administrative list of things adopted in a single vote.

Public comment is over, and the council is now onto Study Items: specifically, looking at the amendments to the city's comprehensive plan.
The only two amendments at question are the amendments 5 and 6, the zoning matter and the neighborhood greenways matter.

Mayor Robertson said that this evening's comments were "inspiring," which basically is the extent of what she could say at this meeting.

It's thus far unclear if the council will direct staff to review the resolution.

One person who explained that he was fired from Nordstrom for confronting "fascists provocateurs," and says that the proposed resolution is "extremely milquetoast," and it's a starting point.

Many folks urging the city council to "rise up and rise to the challenge" to combine the "level of crazy" in the United States.

Clapping has evolved to snapping!

One resident mentioned that he knows two men, day laborers, who were detained and deported by ICE agents at the local Home Depot on 205th Street.
He said that he's lived in Shoreline for a long time, and that over the years, the complexion of the city has changed. That, he said, is a good thing.

The mayor asked folks to NOT applaud after comments, which folks are maliciously complying with, with just a few — one or two — loud claps.

"Instead of talking about our pets or the neighborhood raccoons like we usually do, we talked about Ivan Guzman," said one resident, who asked the council to adopt a model resolution supporting @waisn.bsky.social's 2026-'27 legislative platform. The Council is due to study the Docket tonight, which includes an updated Surface Water Master Plan; a citizen-initiated amendment to add a Neighborhood Greenways program to the city's Transportation Element; and a citizen-initiated amendment to change zoning on 11th Ave NW. Essentially, downzoning.

First off, quite a few folks are speaking about an item on the Comprehensive Plan Docket, a list of addendums to the city's existing Comprehensive Plan, adopted in 2024. Most so far have been talking about rezoning a stretch of road in Richmond Beach. www.shorelinewa.gov/government/d...

There are 21 comments tonight! First, it looks like there are a few folks talking on agenda items, then we're getting into off-agenda matters — in this case, presumably ICE.
