From his POV, IIRC, Bruce was just a super dedicated student until like 16-17, when he went out to see the world (read: learn wuxia bullshit in Tibet from Ra's al Ghul and criminal hunting from the Shadow) and then he came back and told Alfred 'sup I'm Batman now'. What do you do in that situation?
