so much of the humor comes from context beyond the literal pixels on the screen. like even if you don't hate AI, knowing someone had to put time and effort into their dumb meme is an implicit part of what makes some of the funniest memes work.

imo the only time AI was able to make good memes was when it was on accident because it was so bad but trying its best. some legitimately funny stuff came from that era, but only because the AI was the butt of the joke. if it made the exact same images now but on purpose it wouldn't be funny.

yeah it's twitter, big fan of dark blue themes. a quick way to tell the difference is to look and see if the username is a url or not. also I still pop in from time to time and it's at least as unhinged now as it was then, as evidenced by them digging up a year-old post of mine lmao.

plus I think prettier tends to also be better functionally as well. like this item menu replaced one with just text where you would edit item IDs, and there's technically nothing this one does that the other couldn't, but it's just way easier to use.
