Loved this take about productivity - learning tradoffs
This is so spot on. Two things:

1. Being focused on producing output the fastest way possible means that you will never prioritize "going deep"

2. Going deep (and down the rabbit hole) is how you learn more: but you need to balance it.

Figure out how to do both: it's tricky!

2024 was a very good year for me. Tons of amazing things happened to me and my family.

Feeling very grateful and very hopeful for 25.

I wholeheartedly understand that hiring people is difficult and harder nowadays but for the love of god, having 3 code interview steps and 4 behavioral ones is not the way

What about -centralized bookmarks with a beautiful api to use, -client booksmarks that are easy to self host or export/sync with eg Apple or Google accounts, -a centralized but paywalled solution for Bsky+. A mix of those?

take bookmarks. they’d either have to be completely public (maybe ok? but probably not for a lot of people), completely private-as-in-centralized-product and only available to the Bluesky app (undermines the mission), or the team have to take a step back and design a private on-protocol data model

Just ended a client project in Flutter and… it sparked my interest in mobile development again, but hopefully using something different next time.

One of my favorite content creators of all time. This guy made me consider learning PHP and has one the most amazing SQLite resources you can find.

This has been my Achilles heel for too long.

Not another year feeling like this 😤
Maybe I'm finally taking a design course in 2025. Or just learn to use AI better?

This has to be one of coolest Colombian food tier list I've seen by an influencer.

Props to Charlie for featuring the dishes!

I’ve been turning off eslint for a while now, but this might change my mind
There's a linter to enforce this: eslint-react.xyz/docs/rules/h...

The whole eslint-react series of rules is great, as it builds the rules based on recommendations from the new react docs 🎉

I feel like the way I enjoy some apps has changed radically for having an idea of what’s behind.

I’ve become both more forgiving about bugs and also unforgiving about UI/UX and security.

Also my hate for gov. webs has skyrocketed

@sebastienlorber.com’s react newsletter has been my weekly gem; love it so much, it fixed my Resct Fomo from day 1
Oh, the newsletter just crossed 45k subs, nice 😄 🎉

Growth is slower lately
40 -> 45k has really been the hardest threshold
Not going to reach my ambitious goal of 50k by EoY, but it's still great that I'm not too far!

Please help me and share it more around 😄

I’m wondering if the “show less” option actually works, I’ve been thoroughly debugging my discover tab just to find similar posts the next day…

A while back, I realized Mortal Kombat's "Test Your Might" mini-game is a great metaphor for working with ADHD.

So I re-built a version of the game with React and use it to describe "What ADHD Feels Like to Me".

Please check it out & share it with others.

I’m loving that my discover feed is naturally showing me people that I follow on twitter but haven’t got the chance to follow here yet

Pretty easy to change the handle here, also a valid excuse to buy a new domain 😆
