Consciousness Is All There Is
I don’t need applications to inform me about “My Year In Review.”

I lived the shit.

If you don’t care for the people you’re surrounded by then go find some new people.

It’s a big world, even though it’s small.

One of the greatest lessons of this confusing modern age is how truly awful & ugly human leadership can be.

America is a cradle of the best & worst. And it appears that my country had to choose the worst, so we can understand what it means to choose the best.

I hope we choose better next time.

We must be gentle with the passing of knowledge, transferring it with great care to the receiver, like handing a sizzling hot plate to a hungry person who has asked for food.

Snark may get you in the door, but it’s compassion that keeps you in the room.

To be an artist is to make choices.

To be a great artist is to make great choices.

To be nothing is to make no choices at all.

BUY HARD MEDIA.

If you can’t hold it then you don’t own it.

Hollywood isn’t preparing for growth.
It’s preparing for consolidation.

It’s one thing to take someone else apart in a debate.

It’s quite another to build them back up after you’ve torn them down.

That’s how everyone wins a debate.

Watching Twin Peaks The Return is like attending a funeral, but it’s a celebration of life, rather than mourning.
So many incredible people, now dead and gone, cross that screen and fade into oblivion.
The Final Cut to Black is a benediction for all that came before this moment.

Life is growth.

If you’re not growing, you’re not living.

I’ve listened to the Geese Getting Killed album 7 times now, front to back.

I really like it. It’s complex music that is easy to listen to and takes me on a weird journey through rhythms and melodies that shouldn’t work but somehow do. They work very well.

If anyone was unclear, this is a war on art and information. The winner will shape the perception of reality for decades.

When it comes to the opinions of Directors about movies, I only care about what they think about other director’s films they love.

Pay attention when The Boss speaks, especially anyone applying purity tests to art.

They are worried that the hate they inserted inside you won’t last long after they are gone.

Hatred must be constantly fed by fear.

It’s not about the mystery.

One of David Lynch’s famous quotes is, “Keep your eye on the doughnut, not on the hole.”

Many fans think it refers to twisted mysteries in his films. But it’s actually about meditation as a shield against the turbulence of time for those trapped on the surface of life.

Never worship the teacher.

Dear @bungie.net, an annoying bug at step 37 of the Renegades Quest. The antennae carrier keeps respawning behind a shielded wall, or the antennae fall below the platform, becoming inaccessible. I really don't want to play this mission through again in the hope that it works next time. Please fix.

In the age of alternate reality, everything is suspect. This is why I reject even discussing directors when I write film criticism. I don’t want the cultural taint of bad or good behavior to infringe upon my analysis and appreciation of art.

This little dude is the coolest dog I’ve ever cared for as a pet owner. He is playful, loving, gentle, and sweet. He doesn’t bark. He likes to watch movies.
He only has one flaw. He eats blankets and swallows the stuffing in plush toys (and a couple whole toys).
He’s like a piranha.

Quentin Tarantino feeling free to shit on actors publicly is everything wrong with auteur theory.
