Thrips are my constant enemy. Aphids in the fall.

They make films here for a lot of reasons but the main one has to be the economic advantage of the currency exchange rate. I just looked 40%. 1 dollar USD = $1.40 CDN.
The Canadian rates for most positions are not only less/hr but those dollars USD are worth 40% more.

All sorts of references to diatomaceous earth in there. And lots of good general info.

I had an awesome biology teacher who also taught chemistry. No cell structure or their chemical interactions were left unexplained! I still remember a lot of it 50 yrs later 😎 Apparently a lot of that is missing these days.

I also have a 4” hose in each tent as an inlet for fresh air.

My 2x2 is around 200 w led and has a 6” fan. I teed the exhaust with my 4x4 being drawn by a heavy duty exhaust fan thru a charcoal filter outside the tents. I don’t know how it would do without but everything seems to thrive with that setup.

That actually sounds like the best idea!

I’ve been doing exactly that!

They like garbage, fruits and vegetables. I don’t know if they lay eggs in any of those places. I don’t know if they are/are mistaken for fruit flies. They look the same to me.

In ants for example it acts like sandpaper wearing away joints.

I believe it’s abrasiveness kills the larvae.

It is applied in powdered form on top of the soil. Not good for your lungs so a mask is a good idea. Once watered it settled into the dirt.

Veg not beg. We need an edit feature. Lol.

Cool! Thanks for all that 😎 I haven’t done the G33 before. I have some crossed with a strawberry strain but they’re a much different plant which finishes between 10-11 weeks flowering. I don’t count beg weeks as I do mostly clones from a seed a couple of years ago. The G33 is a 1gen clone.

In veg I assume but how long to flower?

Diatomaceous earth?
November 9, 2025 at 11:50 AM
My next plant will be a Gelato 33 currently in flower for 9 wks and a day. How long did yours go? Yours looks much denser than mine.

I put the second fan in when I noticed bud rot and haven’t had a problem since! 👍🏻👍🏻💚
November 9, 2025 at 12:45 AM
I only had bud rot once and , well, nipped it i. The bud. I grow small plants and hand water so i handle them all pretty much daily.

Nematodes may have helped me but fungus gnats seem to find a way to return anyway. And nicotine certainly will kill nematodes too! Anyway that’s what this little Bluesky seems to do really well is let folks bounce around ideas and questions without it turning into a shooting war! Lol 🙏🏻🤙🏻💚

Soak some tobacco in water, strain it out and use it on your soil. Nicotine is poison and those gnats spend part of their life cycle in/on the wet dirt.
