He made some good tunes with an old post-punk band called The Undertones. Similar to what would become West Coast pop-punk in the mid 90s.

Compunet. A pre-Internet online service that you'd connect to using your C64 and an acoustic coupler/dial-up modem. Was quite remarkable for its mid-80s era - chat service, proto-IRC and file-swapping/up/downloading capabilities.

Cheers. And yes, this was a landmark ad I feel. A mainstream high street store advertising a console in 1987 indicated that there were some market changes just beginning to get underway. I remember seeing this and thinking, these consoles may very well be going somewhere!

Yeah, I usually add the year when I actually start posting stuff. I credit mag content when it's not obvious, but often ads don't get sourced as they appeared across multiple publications. And for the record, this ad was Nov 87.
