What's a creative affirmation you're choosing to believe? (9/9)

7. Doing what you love > chasing trends

There's a way to make trends your own, but if I'm having fun, I know someone else will too. (8/9)

6. Soft aesthetics and strong opinions CAN coexist

I can love pink and still have a point to make or something to say. (7/9)

5. Pastel & maximalist setups >>>

I'm in my reclaiming pink era. Let it be soft and cute like a cupcake. And let me have a TON of it. (6/9)

4. There's an audience/community out there for you.

Firmly believe that your people are looking for you just as much as you're looking for them. Keep creating and help them find you! (5/9)

3. Creating as a queer/trans person is activism

Existing on purpose and making art IS resistance. And celebration. No matter how loudly you can do it right now, our creation is powerful. (4/9)

2. Rest is productive

Took me forever to realize that pushing myself to burnout doesn't make me more valuable. Doing nothing on purpose is part of the process. (3/9)

1. You don't have to "niche down" to grow.

My audience is other multi-passionate adults, and I don't think I have to shrink down for the algorithm. My interests don't compete with each other--they build the full picture. (2/9)

Which of these makes your eye twitch? Or do you think I missed some? (9/9)

7. Cozy games can't be competitive or challenging

To an extent, right? I super appreciate the slow, soft, and simple cozy games. But sometimes I also crave a challenge (and I don't just mean fishing mechanics). (8/9)

6. You "have to be high energy" to succeed online

There are way too many creators out there of different energies for me to believe that we ALL have to be "high energy" for growth.

Calm energy ≠ "Checked out"

Growth comes from authenticity. If you have a quiet charisma, lean into it! (7/9)

5. You're "forcing an agenda" by making queer art/games/stories

Funny how it's only an "agenda" when we exist in the story too. (6/9)

4. Choosing the mean/rude romance options

"[Character] softens eventually!"

Absolutely no hate to anyone who chooses them for their playthroughs, but I cannot be convinced to choose them in mine, sorry. Sometimes they're not "misunderstood;" they're just rude. If you like it, great! I don't. (5/9)

3. Black girl characters don't "fit" in fantasy media.

ENOUGH! So sick of the same people who make entire think pieces on why an alien HAS to have green skin or how a mermaid "could technically exist" drawing the line at black people (specifically black women) being highlighted as an MC. (4/9)

2. You need the fanciest setup to be a "real" artist/gamer.

Spending money on these things for ease of creation is a real thing, but you can make great things with cheap/free equipment!

Skill > specs. (3/9)
