Enjoy!! We have a traveling show that comes to town in August. The bad part is trying not to buy all the shiny things!

Pusillanimous. Always sounded to me like an infection that needed antibiotics.

Mom took pics! 😊

At the local park, my mom and I like to feed the geese and ducks. Usually the ducks are mallards and the occasional American black ducks. But today we had a very beautiful visitor, a male Northern pintail! First time I've ever seen one, and it was so up-close! 😄

I'm going to have to look that one up, because I don't even remember that one from anatomy class! Sorry to hear about the lingering effects from your accident. ❤️

Maybe they forgot to carry the 2? 🤷‍♂️

I love that you both can keep your sense of humor about it. But I would love to fix it for you guys if I could. ❤️

And I love that you had a Jessica frog! So adorable!!

Why does your book quote still feel like something you'd post now? 😁🐸
February 2, 2026 at 6:26 AM
Well I've always liked your name too, for what it's worth! 😊
January 31, 2026 at 8:17 PM
I did and preferred that as a kid just to avoid standing out. I prefer my actual name now, because I very much prefer truth in general. "John" isn't my name, and Jean Claude is. I've thought a lot about it, can you tell?? 😂

But it has affected my entire life experience. School kids often immediately labeled me as pretentious or exotic just for having an unusual name.
January 31, 2026 at 8:12 PM
The "Jean" is just like in Jean-Luc, correct. The "Claude" should rhyme (basically) with "load". The lack of hyphen in my name was meant to give me more freedom, but made for problems because "Jean" is seen only as a girl's name by most here, whereas in French it would be spelled "Jeanne".

Having a French name in this culture has shown me how little our fellow Americans know about other languages and cultures. And automatically made me feel like I didn't quite fit in. So I'm sorry for your experience with it too. ❤️

It's hard to say "HAH-nah"?

We've been... busy.

If you DO come out here to live, or if you visit for a bit of time, I would LOVE to treat you guys to a trip to the Magic Wings butterfly conservatory in South Deerfield! I haven't been in ages and the greenhouse is a big enough space that I probably would do okay. 😊🦋

I have had the social life of a leper thanks to my chemical intolerance, since I can't be around hairsprays, perfumes, laundry detergents, etc. I even had to give up my longtime social dancing pastime, many of my dancing friends being form Northampton/Deerfield area. But I tell you what:

I love how, though large, it really can be a small world. 😊
January 24, 2026 at 8:39 PM
No way!! That's awesome!!
January 24, 2026 at 8:38 PM
I just realized it probably means "North Hollywood"; here it means Northampton, MA. 😅
January 24, 2026 at 8:35 PM
Of course you are, friend. It's very scary. The thing that helps me have the most peace of mind in my own health complaints is to do my best to have true modesty and just accept that I have limitations, even though I don't like it. If that helps you today I'm happy to share the thought. ❤️

Is Noho what I think it is? I'm so sorry to hear you're battling a reinfection and the brain fog. That's something (and other cognitive complaints) that really interfere with my quality-of-life with my chemical intolerance syndrome. ❤️❤️❤️
