Panic disorder suuucks. Had two shitty stressful weeks in a row this month (which I was handling well!) and then boom. First panic attack in 2 years. Stayed calm and did all the things you're supposed to do. Still lasted over an hour and then symptoms haunted me for 3+ days after. 👎 Solidarity bro.

I love this prompt. I could have taken it in so many directions. But having limited time this year, I decided to stick with a classic. I've loved gryphons since I was a kid and wanted to do my own take on a small, housecat-sized version.

Wouldn't be a spooky spring if I didn't paint a weird animal in a forest.

I could have easily put a dozen more hours into this one, and I'll probably revisit it in the future when I have more time. But I'm proud of what I managed to do in less than three days.

After this prompt, I have no concrete plans. I hope to do at least two more pieces, but I haven't decided which yet. I may just continue through the list at my own pace, but we'll see once this piece is finished.

My original idea for this prompt was a spellwork still life. But I rewatched The Prestige a couple weeks back and that aesthetic grabbed me hard. I was also inspired by turn-of-the century magician gig posters, especially the trend of red devil/ imp figures whispering in the performer's ear.
