There is a joke that I want to make after seeing you create the first post in the thread, but I'm skipping it because I'm 50/50 on whether it'd get me blocked. But most people who read this comment will know what I'm referring to, and the rest should read back a few days in your post history.

It's weird how I learned that he died. Nobody said RIP or goodbye or that he'll be missed. Instead people just started posting random old clips. And when disparate people start posting old clips of the same person, something major happened.

If someone was willing to throw money at it, I'm sure Disney would be on board. It would have to be similar to the Tokyo or upcoming Abu Dhabi parks, in that someone else essentially would license the name and run the parks themselves, paying Disney a boatload of cash for the privilege.

There is abundance in amusement parks, if not theme parks. Maybe even an over-abundance - Six Flags closing parks due to lack of attendance. Theme parks may be fine as well, outside of Disney World. Lines at Universal (apart from Epic Universe) are rarely this long for most of the year.

This is true, but it shouldn't be this way. Why isn't Western Europe or China stepping in to fill this void? Why do we need to. Pay the highest healthcare costs in the world to subsidize other wealthy nations healthcare?

My group has already invested hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars into D&D, between core books, splatbooks, campaigns, minis, and other D&D-specific accessories. I don't want to do the same for another game that I may not even like. Good enough is good enough. And that's why D&D wins.

I remember a study that showed that if people see a behavior in others, they are more likely to exhibit the same behavior . So by seeing growing numbers of people disapprove of Trump, those on the fence may be more likely to disapprove as well. So hiding the information may keep them on the fence.

As a former college RA, I can tell you that that rule is entirely necessary, and entirely ineffective. College-age women can be absolutely awful to each other.

This makes sense. Labor saving devices are credited with helping more women enter the workforce. If they don't need to spend as much time at home, they have the freedom to get a job outside of the home.

I enjoyed Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality when I was younger, but I couldn't stomach following Yudkowsky on Twitter. He really liked the smell of his own farts. Which shouldn't have surprised me, given that he wrote a fanfic that combined a children's book and rationalism.

Curling is the one Olympic sport that I think I could get to a near-elite level, never having done it before. I'll never flip and twist like Simone Biles, but I can absolutely slide a stone down the ice, yell a few times and scrape the ice with a broom. That's why it is the best Olympic sport.

I attribute it more to Jack Welch than Reagan. Welch changed the culture of corporations and ushered in management-by-finance. This philosophy is great at extracting short-term gains at the expense of long-term value.

My theory has been that letting the finance and accounting people run companies is a net negative. Many such companies have moved towards finding efficiencies while undermining their core competencies. They manage to the next earnings call without regard for long-term growth.

CNN's current headline says he shared a racist video as well, no scare quotes. They aren't quite calling the president racist yet, but nearly everyone seems to feel safe enough to call the video racist now. So that's good, I guess.
