baby Eastern Copperhead (lifer!)
a eastern copperhead coiled one and a half times around facing away from the camera. It has a tan body that gets lighter towards the underside, with darker brown triangular "hershey kiss" patterning repeating along its length. The end of its tail is a lime green color. It is very cute. the same snake from a side angle. It is holding it's head up off the ground to probably try to be more imposing.

A large burnished orange ant-like insect with 2 yellowish spots on its abdomen with very blocky proportions sitting on the edge if a rock embedded in dry muddy gravel. a closer look at the insect, fine hairs can be seen on its body, hence where they get the name velvet ant.

4 multicolored ducks on a lake, in overcast lighting. 3 of them have splotched white gray and black colors. A fox sparrow perched in a thin branch that is just beginning to leaf out. It is a small bird with a grayish head, cream colored underside with numerous rusty red triangular spots, mostly concentrated around its neck. Its wings and tail are also rusty red, as well as a cheek patch.

Buffleheads! finally got *decent* looks at them. Even from here that iridescences is showing on the male. ✨ The female on the other hand sometimes just disappeared with the more subdued browns. #Birds #Nature #Photography
