Retired writer, editor, and software developer. Very liberal fan of Bernie Sanders. Proponent of letting people make their own choices rather than letting the government tell women to not have abortions and the families of trans kids to not have treatment.
I don't buy anything but groceries (and those from a local chain rather than a national one) from Halloween to New Year's day.

Stop enabling capitalism.

Waiting for him to jerk awake and order a nuke strike on someone.

Once a Mouth of Sauron, always a Mouth of Sauron.

I call Trump Traitor One. Every one of his appointees, whom I call his treasonweasels, are traitors, too.

I figure other people's living arrangements ain't my business, just like a lot of things (whether a woman gets an abortion, whether someone is trans, etc.) ain't my business.

As you should be.

View of the Thames Charing Cross Bridge by the French Impressionist painter Alfred Sisley for anyone wondering.

My artist friend (and one of the GURPS GMs in my RP group - I'm one, too) uses a drafting table for his work table. 🙂

I don't buy anything other than groceries from Halloween to New Year's, and I buy my groceries from a local chain that donates to D candidates, not a national one.

I'm a teacher at heart (and taught at a university for a while). I love explaining both how things work and how to do things. The more complicated, the better, so writing about programming for programmers was a great fit for me. 🙂

Heh. I instantly saw its potential for sharing information and thought the world would be a much better place for all the smart people sharing their ideas. It turns out that stupidity travels MUCH more quickly. Loud fucking sigh.

Similar idiocy is sweeping through all of tech and other industries, too. It's going to be a disaster in both the near and long terms.

Damn right he does. My favorite poet.

It'll make the COVID pandemic look good. If it is as strong as the 1918/19 flu, it could kill hundreds of millions worldwide and several million in the US alone.

I made a very good living and retired at age 62 as a technical writer (and programmer - I spent the last part of my career writing about programming). I was still a writer - just not the kind people think about if all one says is "writer."

Eyup. You educated me. Congrats, I think. 😉

The Ds mostly aren't all that different. For every AOC, there are a bunch of Schumers. That's one of many things we need to fix.

I'm thinking Curly, Moe, and Larry, but I haven't a clip handy.

I like the look on the face of the blond lady to the right: How long is this racist asshole gonna go on about a triviality?

The Mouth of Sauron knows only lies. If she ever speaks a truth, it's only to lure her victims into a further lie.
November 26, 2025 at 12:09 AM
Is it actually true or did the president just announce that it's true?

And now the US has said, "Hold my beer."

I don't know when I joined. It was right around this date, though.

I didn't see a way to discover when I joined, other than my oldest post.
