Perhaps the weirdest thing about being here while this is going on is that life in HK is still very much “as usual”, but I think that’s a big city thing. I don’t doubt there are a lot of heavy hearts across HK today, and plenty wondering how this could happen. (4)

The fact the fires are still not totally under control despite it being over 24 hrs since they broke out seems shocking, but last year I saw a fire start outside an MTR station in a refuse area and it was a towering inferno in moments, so I’ve seen it happen. (3)

There’s no organised relief fund set up at the moment but if I hear anything, I’ll post. Lots of locals have been donating items for those displaced and multiple companies have pledged to donate. (2)
