Exactly not sure if these people will ever understand that

These people will claim they’ve found the healing properties of plant medicine but ignore the history of opium and tobacco.

They want shamans in their companies but also think “junkies” should go to healing farms and are obsessed with RFK Jr & Joe Rogan.

Sorry bros - the medicine isn’t working.

Sorry that I don’t think famous white people (who are mostly horrible people) should be able to pay large amounts of $ to go to an ibogaine or ayahuasca retreat and claim they’ve found healing while the US continues to not care about Indigenous People or access to healthcare 🙃

Thanks!!

The point?

Many people who use drugs report having a hard time removing themselves from environments that are triggering for them when attempting to reduce use or abstain completely. Our data suggests that psilocybin may be able to unpair that association thus reducing environmental association.

Key takeaways 3/?:

🔬 male and females have differences in structural plasticity in the NAc following psilocybin. Males had reduced number of spines while females had increased number of spines. Female mice also had shown place preference to psilocybin when in a modified protocol.

Key takeaways 2/?:

💊 male and females have differences in gene expression post-drug (oxy and oxy/psilocybin) administration in the FC & NAc, including differences in genes related to learning and memory, neuronal excitability and opioid signaling.

Key takeaways 1/?:

🐭 psilocybin facilitates more rapid extinction of oxycodone place preference 24 h after administration in males not females without altering other behaviors

🧠 these behavioral effects are through activation of 5HT2A receptors on pyramidal neurons in the frontal cortex

Wait is this real

Essentially single dose of psychedelics psilocybin and 25CN-NBOH produced antidepressant-like effects at 5+12 weeks post dosing. The sustained effects are thought to be due to changes in functional plasticity (cell firing/synaptic activity) and not just through looking at structural features.
