I hope everyone is staying safe, sitting out in this storm! It's a cool 9 degrees here with occasional snow showers. Meanwhile, I just booked my trip to the PCH. Actually, the bottom half of CA Highway 1, as there are lots of things to see. Beaches, seafood, the expenses, overall it will be great

Human League doing a US tour this year, but no stop in STL (imagine that! 🤣). Had the opportunity to see them 20 yrs ago but something came up. This calls for a road/train trip to Nashville or Chi-town. Otherwise I don't give 2 craps about Soft Cell or Alison Moyet (the openers)

There are a lot of anniversaries this year, but I'm thinking of posting some notable sites that are off Route 66, the most famous highway in the world. I traveled it from 2020-2022, and several towns/cities have geared up for its centennial year. I hope to post at least 66 of them (ha!), in no order

Did you know? St. Louis has one statue of Dr. Martin Luther King, located at Fountain Park. Placed in 1978, it was nearly damaged in the tornado last year but has since been put back. Not too far from Central West End. Photo taken by me in 2014

R.I.P. Bob Weir. To a great musician who kept the Dead's legacy alive as possible. (Here's an old photo from Bonnaroo 2016 w/ him performing with Dead & Co. with John Mayer)

21 acts that are in the Rock Hall have also been awarded the Polar Music Prize, which is an award given to legends in Sweden (it goes to international artists). Last year, Queen and Herbie Hancock were recipients. Part of me feels Hancock will likely get some sort of induction this year...

Happy birthday Elvis! Would have been 91. Probably be still rocking it, though I can't picture him being alive today. Anyone who is bored: I visited several Elvis sites in 2024 (Tupelo, Memphis, & other places) and put them in a YouTube playlist. www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Just checked in to X for the first time in who-knows-how-many months, and its like a ghost town. Yes, well-known figures and media personalities (all sides of the aisle) are on it but it's like all my friends abandoned it. Some left social media altogether. (cont.)

The other day I drove up to Peoria, IL and visited Dan Fogelberg's memorial as well as other related places. I've never once heard his name come up in any Rock Hall watcher conversation but he is more influential than we all think. His main genre was folk rock in addition to soft rock

This year will be the centennial anniversary of Route 66, as well as most of the highways in the U.S. numbered hwy system. But Route 66 will arguably be the most celebrated of them all. I don't plan on traveling very much of it this year, as I'm sure businesses will be busy.

Because of Stranger Things, Boppers have made a brief comeback but only bought through the Nature Valley website. How did I not know about this? 😂 they also have the recipe but it has to taste like it did back in the 80s!

Funny that this list excludes many, but I understand it's also there for inspirational purposes. I've seen the 4 oldest, and if Micky Dolenz was on the list (he's 80) then I've seen 3 of these people this year.

This song should have been a big hit in the US. It didn't even make the Billboard alternative chart, but it did "bubble under" the Radio & Records modern rock one. Today it is somewhat a classic

I only attended 5 paid concerts this year, +1 from 2024. Sure I missed out on plenty opportunities but I sleep better knowing that I don't support LN/TM as much as I used to. I’m glad I got to see Herb Alpert, Micky Dolenz, NGDB & many who are getting up there. Anyway, the "protest" continues haha

Thinking of dropping my SiriusXM subscription in a couple weeks. Two years ago on Black Friday I bought a 2-yr subs. for $5 a month including their app channels (which I never really utilized except for the Yacht Rock one). Since that time it went to $25. I say hell no. Time to go back

A lot of acts almost made my list. I can't really think of a time when artists/bands were on the ballot for 3 consecutive years. That's why I didn't put Mariah or Oasis on mine. Almost put Billy Idol, but I think they'll give him a year off like they did with Cyndi.

Prediction #15: Home stretch! Thanks all for putting up with these posts. The final act on my nominee predictions list is Coldplay. Why haven't they been nominated yet?! smh (does anyone even say that anymore?)

Prediction #14: This is about to get weird, literally. Weird Al Yankovic is my next pick to be placed on the ballot. I know this will enrage or enthrall many people. This will likely givethe Rock Hall more and more backlash. But a lot of people include him in their "snubbed lists" and he...

Prediction #13: The other "diva" I have on my list is Sade. I really shouldn't consider her one. (Yes I know they'll induct the band!) In all honestly, I really considered putting someone like Patti LaBelle/LaBelle, Diana Ross or even Gloria Gaynor in this slot. But I think the NomCom is in 80s mode
