My mouth falls open in surprise, just a touch. Bastian takes this the wrong way, and leans closer, his lips ghosting over mine. "Do not forget this," I whisper against his mouth. "I killed you before. I'll do it again, and I'll do it right this time." Bastian leans back, something flickering in his eyes. Surprise, maybe. I grin wide. "You can't win this, Bastian. I'm gonna get your spirit out of my head. I'm gonna rip it to pieces until there's nothing left of you." I point at his chest. "I'll be free of you, and you'll have finally known what it was like to be afraid."
