The Forever War! Great suggestion, totally forget that is on my list! I really enjoy how Scalzi handles ethics, consciousness, politics, and purpose in his books all with a heavy layer of sarcasm and humor. He writes the way I think.

If it's Scalzi, I've read it all, Human Division and Last Colony were also great. Expeditionary Force and Bobiverse are new to me, I'll check those out. Somehow I missed Red Rising over the years and might go there next. I'm thinking I need something a bit less light hearted next.
