I don't know that my once-a-month-or-two appearance counts. lol

My SF & F post would be exponentially longer than my kidlit one, but I heartily agree!

I'm thankful for the authors and illustrators that inspired me to try my hand at writing and drawing for Kidlit & more. Notably, Maurice Sendak, Eric Carle, William Joyce, Jack Kirby, Winsor McCay, Hayao Miyazaki, and still many more than I have space to name. #kidlitchat

And, of course, that's what book dummies are for. It's all a developmental process. You can see the creation of your secondary non-textual storylines and how it interacts with the main text, too. #kidlitchat

I tend to blurt out whatever the BIG IDEA® is in several paragraphs/pages/run-on sentences/etc., and then backtrack to figure out motivations and/or story structure from there. Does it give me multitudes of false starts of story ideas? Yes, but sometimes I can link them together. #kidlitchat

I believe it's time for the universe to make me independently wealthy so I can spend my time attending writing workshops, visiting illustration meccas, making book dummies and painting (all with good cocktails) #kidlitchat

That would pair nicely with a visit to the Society of Illustrators in NY. That's a bucket list visit of mine. #kidlitchat

Can you imagine? You'd be covered with invisible fur all over your clothes. That's impossible to get off with a lint roller. #kidlitchat

Is this a derivation on the woman's choice to be alone in the woods with a man or a bear, now a ghost bear? #kidlitchat

Closest I've been is the Land that Time forgot of Chelmsford, MA for Kodak imagesetter training years ago.

As one does. #kidlitchat

Previously, the workshops were cost-prohibitive while I was actively querying. Now that I've stepped back, left my agent, and started a new job that allows me the after-work time to write and develop, I'll have the funds to actually attend something. A writing retreat sounds glorious. #kidlitchat
