This is really awful news. Kevin Rideout and his family were some of my dearest friends growing up. We share the same birthday. The situation in Niger has deteriorated so much in just last two years. My thoughts are with his entire extended family.

Bradley County went 80% red last election but we had at least 100-150 people out for No Kings, the first one we've had here. I chatted with a woman who's been in the area since 1975 and she was blown away.

The number of people honking and supporting was incredible, and it was peaceful and joyous.

I would love for the next Democratic president to have Sherman as a role model.

This is good and necessary to say and hear.
AOC: I think there's two things that are happening at once: One, there absolutely is an unprecedented abuse of power, destruction of norms, erosion of our government and our democracy in order to prop up an authoritarian style of governance

However, they are weaker than they look…

This is one of my favorite spots in the entire park, where you can frame Pikes Peak between Kissing Camels and Gateway Rock.

I've been visiting my brother and seeing friends in my old stomping grounds of Colorado Springs and walking around Garden of the Gods every day as much as I can, because it is absolutely glorious.

Flying out of Nooga and got this picture of Lookout Mountain in the early morning fog. It's hard to appreciate how long and skinny it is from the ground.

The piano I ordered in April that was going to be unordered because of tariffs finally made it here after carefully timing tariff windows to minimize the damage. It's getting delivered on Friday.

After all the events of 2025, especially today, I am desperately needing something anxiety reducing.

Walked the dogs this morning past the same location where I was previously assaulted by a spider and spotted this mofo and its web before I walked into it this time.

I was out walking the dogs this morning and walked through a massive spider web that the spider had, for whatever reason, put straight out over the sidewalk and now I am constantly feeling like a spider is crawling on me. Good times.

Off to my cousin's wedding with my brother, where there will be so many other Fugates to see, some of whom I haven't seen in thirty years.

I have flown into O'Hare many times but I can't recall doing a loop out over Lake Michigan like we did this beautiful clear morning.

Being in eastern time zone sucks for El Traficos. I watched 20 minutes, went to bed, then woke up to see that it was another ridiculous 6 goal game.

Superman was a great summer movie. The actors were clearly having fun, the effects (mostly) didn't take me out of the experience, and it was nice to see a movie make such a strong case for what unites us as humans, even so-called "aliens."

Went to my first Bradley County TN Democrats meetup tonight now that I live here and there were about 40-50 people, which was the most they've had in a long time, maybe even ever. Heard from Shady Martinez from www.viveforadream.org?page_id=25 about ways to support our local immigrants. Good stuff.

Just experienced an earthquake in Tennessee! WTF.

It was an extremely low bass feeling, like someone had their car stereo on driving through the neighborhood, but even lower. Super strange.
