Somebody claiming NYRB Classics is “big pub” and has the money to pay people to hype “Stoner” feels like a claim from back in the 1990s when conspiracy theories were quaint and harmless things quacks posted on message boards nobody read.

I’ve got this one cabinet in my office that’s just weed and this Karl Marx doll my daughter is frightened of. I love opening it because it’s like I’ve got some stoner guy squatting in my apartment.

Currently on a plane to Boston so I can sit in a hotel room and fast for Yom Kippur and then go directly to a Dunkin for break fast Thursday before heading to my last stop on book tour. If you’re in the area, come say hi, maybe watch me pass out. It will be funny.

It would be funny if Silicon Valley caught wind that my book makes fun of Bay Area tech bros a lot and they decided to protest my event at the Booksmith tonight. Just a bunch of Musk acolytes and “This guy fucks” types standing outside the bookstore with signs like “AI girlfriends are people too!”

Best way to celebrate novel release day.
Went to buy something at my local bookstore and they said “your books came in.” It took a second to realize they meant MY book. I haven’t gotten my copies yet so it was my first time seeing them. I bought one and they’re not on sale yet so I think I got the first copy of my own book.
