I think that the best intervention in the debate was that of Baroness Butler-Sloss. It was nothing to do with the motion, but merely a 30 second amusing anecdote.

Alas not committing crimes doesn’t prevent the current administration from seeking vindictively to charge those with whom Trump bears a grudge.

I guess Bannon is worried that the Democrats would stoop to the same authoritarian low (or considers it convenient to present as holding that concern).

I’m not sure it’s quite that simple, speaking as a descendant of Germanic ancestors, with a Germanic surname, but a religion that would definitely mark me out to society’s ne’er-do-wells as never able to be properly English.

I think that’s the version I always listen to as well. Hard to beat Gershwin to raise the mood. Could happily listen to Rhapsody in Blue and An American In Paris repeatedly throughout the day.

AI tells me middle-aged goes up to 60. But as a middle-aged white British man myself, I agree with your decision (though I'm from a besieged minority and had 8 immigrant great-grandparents, so wonder whether or not Goodwin and co would ignore my immigrant heritage on account of my whiteness).
