I'm guessing not many of the ~5%* of Irish people for whom English is not their L1 test their English proficiency with English tests available for free over the internet, since that is the source of this data.
* As far as I can tell, Wikipedia isn't very clear on that

This is most likely all LLM spam, of course. I long for the days where you would get artisanal nonsense. It would really elevate the humour, when you knew someone typed all that out, on purpose.

He was also openly gay which made him useful to the right but also meant he was permanently on thin ice with them. A gay guy who says pedophilia isn't that bad is less defensible to them than a literal pedophile (as long as the pedo is only interested in opposite-sex minors)

The NYT has 11.9 million subscribers, and many more regular readers (I couldn't find the numbers for that in less than five minutes). Most of those aren't leftists or even particularly progressive. If all leftists and progressives stopped talking about the NYT, it would not even make a dent (2/2)

It depends. For some things, sure. And even then it depends on who the "you" refers to. If Michael Hobbes stops talking about the NYT, it is not going to go away. If he and all of his 186K Bluesky followers stop talking about the NYT, it is not going to go away. (1/2)
