That fucker is infamous for a reason.

and the game already got flak from a lot of players back in the day because of the dark world draining your health rapidly, so you can't really stop and smell the roses in there.
so I doubt that modern players would take to that particularly well either.

like, the game's a smaller scale and more experimental title by Capcom. and games like that are something which you don't really see all that often from big developers and publishers nowadays.

and also for fans of indie games like Hades, Vampire Survivors and such.
y'know, stuff you put on during transit to school/work and get a run or two in.
hence why these are so dang popular on the Switch and Steam Deck

and for instance, the rewind feature Sony included with their PS1 and PS2 rereleases as of late was a godsend for some parts in Sly Cooper 1

save states are a *huge* bonus there.
I get that its not how it was originally intended, but ngl, sometimes old games were *really* mean and tedious with what they wanted you to do

for instance, if you want to play, say, Paper Mario TTYD or Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, just emulate them (or play the remake in TTYD‘s case), because trying to get the physical discs for those is gonna cost ya
