Reason 100000 buying from used books store is better than buying new:

Discovering old annotations.

Who was this reader? What struck them about this paragraph? Why’d they stop reading? Did they too find the title and cover irresistibly intriguing?

When debating a topic, people often assume that a dismantling of the opponent’s idea constitutes a victory, but that’s not the case.

As J.D. Salinger writes in his novel Franny and Zooey:

“For a point of objection, however eloquent, is only as good as it is applicable.”

Saying “you’ll find the time if you really care about it” is bad advice.

By finding time in your life for one thing, you don’t realize you’re pushing another thing out the window until you look around and realize it’s long gone.

It doesn’t matter how much you care, there’s only so much time.

they must have action; and they will make it if they cannot find it”
