Nellie Svensson, one of Sweden's top young talents will leave Frölunda for St. Lawrence University next season. Another top European player going the NCAA route.

Somewhat remarkable: This is the first time in their three year history that Montreal has a points percentage below .500 (0-1-0).

It is also the first time in Marie-Philip Poulin's professional career that she is below .500 (7th season, CWHL/PWHL).

😏
If the Montreal Canadiens recall Adam Engström soon, I would not be surprised. Outright dominating the AHL right now....

Not a great start for the Victoire but the good news is it’s only 1-0 and they started to generate momentum at the end of the period.

Adam Engström, after his five-point performance in Laval’s 7-2 win over Belleville, called himself lucky.

When told this, his coach Pascal Vincent was dumbfounded. “Who did?,” he asked. “Engström?”

“He’s being dominant out there,” he said. “So I don’t agree with him. He’s not lucky. He’s good.”
Rocket vs. Senators: Adam Engström dominant in statement game

If Montreal places Jade Downie-Landry on LTIR as reported, it will be interesting who they task to be their third line centre. Skylar Irving won 53% of her faceoffs last year at Northeastern but has been at wing all preseason.

This post was 58 minutes ago. Since this, he has two more points and was on the ice for three goals.

Back at Place Bell for the first time (of many) this hockey season. There will be Teddy Bears.

Don’t know (ok I do know) who needs to hear this but a legitimate and serious professional league does not hand out contracts as participation prizes.

If you’re expecting that, then your expectations of what this league is are frankly warped by past “professional” leagues.

Toronto Sceptres have 5 of the 6 PWHL goals tonight.

Vancouver’s SECOND power play unit was Bell Boreen Vanišová Gardiner Miller lmao

Just a reminder there is no offside review, even from the command centre, in the PWHL.

This is season 12 of covering professional women's hockey. I covered five CWHL seasons, four PWHPA seasons (spliced with a bit of remote Force coverage) and now this is the third season of the PWHL.

Seeing the players have this opportunity will never, ever get old. It's so cool.

All this talk about Montreal looking at Elizabeth Giguère but I think a better fit might be Chloé Aurard-Bushee if she was indeed let go by Boston.

Closing the loop on this: Sportsnet is getting the Montreal-Boston game as they return to the PWHL broadcast schedule.
#PWHL Canadian TV details for the season openers:
Toronto-Minnesota will be on TSN followed by Vancouver-Seattle

Ottawa-New York will be on TSN

Montreal-Boston will be on RDS with no English TV listing currently available.

Everyone is like "The Canadiens play too much overtime" as if getting to watch Caufield, Hutson and Demidov in 3 on 3 is a bad thing...
