the end of lower decks with @januarydancer.bsky.social was lovely and also totally had me crying a lot.

then we finished the 2nd cycles recording! we talked about walking in circles, d&d campaigns, board games, social media, and the time loop of someone who’s no longer living.

Anybody else set up with Kanopy? I’ve got so many sci fi films bookmarked on there, and tonight’s movie was Parallel

Good and a gripping watch, just came out last year!

I’m gonna try to watch the original Solaris tonight with @januarydancer.bsky.social. She’s been suggesting that I would like it a lot and I’m hyped to give it a try.

Headed over to @januarydancer.bsky.social’s place to watch The Man Who Fell To Earth. I own a copy of this movie but haven’t ever seen it all the way through. That changes tonight!

Tonight I went to a Round Rock board game meet up with @januarydancer.bsky.social tonight, and we played a few rounds of Parcheesi, which was fun. I hadn’t played my fave board game since September of last year and tonight we fixed that. The group got the whole back room of Kirby Lane to ourselves.

The evening’s reading material is a sobering look at the history and events leading up to George Junius Stinney Jr’s execution in 1944, the youngest person in the 20th century to be executed in the U.S.

After days of moving prep, glad to take a break and catch a Telugu film I’ve been wanting to catch (earlier film from S.S. Rajamouli before he made Baahubali and RRR, so 🤩)

Jawan is straight up my favorite film this year! Masala in the best way, with action, drama, political commentary, and of course those fun goofy moments that make Indian films such a delight

Ok, “Noor” by Nnedi Okorafor is a pretty intriguing read, I like finding new (to me) authors to get invested in

Currently reading “Secrets of the Sprakkar: Iceland’s Extraordinary Women and How They Are Changing the World” by Eliza Reid, fascinating to see the perspective from within Iceland on different facets of life and how they impact women
