His explanation that he just didn't know what it was doesn't wash. He's a Marine and a military contractor and a history buff, and campaign manager said he knew and there is credible reporting that said he called it his 'totenkopf.'

I don't believe he didn't know what it was. Credible reporting says a friend said he called it 'my totenkopf.' His campaign manager said he knew. He was a Marine and a military contractor. It's just not believable that he had no idea what a totenkopf is.

I can *almost* get there on the "I was too drunk to know what I was doing so I got a death's head tattoo as a goof in 2007." I can't get there on the part where he left it there for 18 years, even while runiing for US Senate.
